Our Story

After a year of traveling in her RV, Stephenie returned to find her law career in Austin no longer fit her. Seeking change, she attended a wild horse auction in Carson City in 2017 and adopted two mustangs, Canelo and Lorenzo.

Living in a downtown Austin condo made horse adoption challenging, but with help from Vicki and Ken Cliff, she learned to care for the mustangs. Bert Ramos further taught her horse care and riding, deeply influencing her life.

Returning to her legal career in Denver, Stephenie still felt drawn to Nevada and family. The McCoys decided to prioritize family and nature, leading Stephenie to buy 640 acres in Nevada. There, she founded Wild Now, a sanctuary for gentling horses and people.
